A lone male Brown Bear makes a rare appearance in search for the Sockeye salmon (Red Salmon) on the Russian River this past August of 2018 . The second run of red salmon showed up late and this Brown Bear probably had a good idea of their whereabouts. A primary food source for this large Bruin , the red salmon fishing in the Russian River is world renown. Thousands of fishermen flock these tributaries of the Kenai River during the summer months . Cherished by sport fishermen, the Russian River is also a favorite for the Brown Bears .
